Ordering repeat prescriptions

You can order your repeat prescription medicine in these ways:

  • Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or NHS App)
  • on the NHS website or NHS App). Click the links to watch videos on how to do this on the NHS website and NHS App.
  • Use our GP online system: Systmconnect Click on ‘Medication request’.
  • Bring the paper form to the surgery
  • Call us on the phone on 0113 295 4840 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm.  

Collecting your prescription

You can usually collect your medicine from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you order it.

You need to choose a pharmacy to collect your medicine from. This is called nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your pharmacy any time:

  • On the app or website where you order repeat prescription
  • At your GP surgery
  • At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions.

Ask your local pharmacist if you have questions about your medicine.

Ask a question using our GP online system: SystmConnect – Click on ‘Medication query’.

Call the GP surgery on 0113 295 4840 Monday to Friday, 8am to 6:30pm. 

Visit the GP surgery and ask the receptionist to help.

  • How your medicine works
  • How and when to take it
  • Side effects
  • Common questions

Medication reviews

If you have repeat prescriptions, we may ask you to come in for a review. We will check this is still the right medication for you.

We will contact you when it is time.

Old medicines

Take old medicine to the pharmacy or bring it to the GP surgery.

Do not put it in the bin or flush it down the toilet.

About pharmacists

Pharmacists can help with minor illnesses like:

  • Coughs
  • Colds
  • Sore throats
  • Tummy problems
  • Aches and pains

They can also advise on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

Many pharmacies are open late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private room where you can talk without being overheard.
